Texstar Home Core Exercises with Mariah

Darren Kincaid - Friday, April 17, 2020

Greetings All….

Today’s blog post is a follow-up to our latest blog post regarding home care. All of us here at Buda’s TexStar Chiropractic miss you, and we want to make sure that during this time when gyms are closed and our normal routines are interrupted that you are taking the time to exercise and keep your core strong. Mariah, our rehab tech has put together a great video demonstrating some great home exercises that you can do every day to keep your core strong. Keeping your core strong helps to stabilize your spine which will help you prevent back pain but if you are already having pain that is not getting better with basic home care, call us. We can either give you some other home recommendations to try or get you scheduled for a visit in the office if needed.

These are exercises designed for the young and seniors alike, but if you experience pain while doing any of these exercises STOP.

Here is Mariah:

The entire team here at Buda’s TexStar Chiropractic send our best wishes to you and remind you not to neglect your physical and mental health during these most challenging times. We’re here for you!

TexStar COVID-19 Update - April 13, 2020

Joseph Coupal - Monday, April 13, 2020
TexStar COVID Update

Hi Everyone!

Dr. Henry, Dr. Tran, and Dr. Woods here,

First off, we want to let all our wellness care patients know how much we miss you and that we can’t wait to see your smiling faces back in our offices soon. This too shall pass, and we will be here for you when it does (or sooner if you need us).

Secondly, for our patients that are experiencing pain, dysfunction or on acute care treatment plans there have been a few updates to local health care recommendations which will slightly change how your visits look here in our office.

We will be extending our COVID-19 safety procedures through at least April 30th.

We are further limiting the number of treatment slots we are offering to enable us to maintain good social distancing in the office. We ask that your guests wait outside when possible or let us know they are coming so we can plan accordingly. We also ask that if you are early you call us before coming into the office. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We have arranged specific treatment windows for our higher risk patients due to greater than expected demand. Our older and immunocompromised patients that are in enough pain to need care now can be seen with very limited contact from staff and no contact at all with other patients.

Following updated CDC recommendations our treatment staff will be wearing face masks when distancing is not possible such as during your adjustment and hands-on rehab. We also recommend that you follow the local recommendations of wearing a face covering when you are out anywhere in public when maintaining 6-foot separation isn’t possible.

We will continue the social distancing and sanitation practices that we have outlined in our previous email.

We want to remind you that if you are having pain that is not getting better with basic home care then call us before coming in and we may be able to recommend some other things for you to try at home.

Finally, remember that if you are in pain don’t wait until it’s unbearable. We want you to try home care first but don’t let a small thing that can be corrected in one or two visits turn into a bigger issue that will require more care or worse a visit to an ER or urgent care.

You are all in our thoughts. Stay safe and call us (512) 899-2228, text us (512) 956-0111, or email us if there is anything we can do to help.

Sincerely,
Your TexStar Chiropractic Team

Thirty-Nine Weeks Pregnant and Feeling Much Better

Joseph Coupal - Monday, March 09, 2020

Here’s another feel good story for all of us here at Buda’s TexStar Chiropractic. Below is a success story about how we helped Brittany, our patient with pregnancy-related upper and lower back pain. We encourage those of you out there who believe your pregnancy is contributing to neck and/or back pain to call and discuss the merits of prenatal and post-natal chiropractic care. Take a moment and listen to the testimonial below and know that Brittany is not alone in enjoying the therapeutic rewards of prenatal chiropractic treatment.

Hey guys, I am a patient here at TexStar Chiropractic. I came in here because I had a lot of upper back pain and lower back pain. I'm obviously very pregnant, I'm 39 weeks pregnant. I had heard wonderful things about chiropractic care, was a little nervous, but decided to give it a try. I've been seeing Dr. Woods for my last seven visits and I've had wonderful results. I have a lot more mobility in my lower body and lower back. Also the pain that was coming in from my upper back and around my side is gone. So I've been really impressed with the care and the services that I received here.

Pregnant and suffering neck and/or back pain? At TexStar Chiropractic here in Buda, we’re here for you. Give us a call!

LaDon’s Right-Side Pain Gone After Visiting TexStar Chiropractic - (Now in Buda)

Joseph Coupal - Monday, March 02, 2020

Well, it took all of two chiropractic treatments with one of the docs now treating at TexStar Chiropractic (serving Kyle and Buda) to eliminate essentially all of LaDon’s pain. She came in with acute pain up and down the right side of her back. We utilized a number of treatment options to successfully address her pain. Take just a moment to hear from LaDon herself about her successful chiropractic treatment results.

Never accept pain as something that you simply must live with. Not all back pain gets better on its own. Often times the exact opposite occurs and conditions continue to worsen without treatment. Allow us the privilege to definitively assess the specific causes of your pain and then to confidently put you on the path to rapid recovery.

Buda’s Dr. Henry at TexStar Chiropractic Made Her Feel Ten Years Younger

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, February 25, 2020

Today we’re going to share April’s story, a typical story that all of us here at Buda’s TexStar Chiropractic love to go home and tell our families about.  April suffered lower back injuries in a bad auto accident. Like many, she procrastinated getting treatment thinking that ultimately her back would just fix itself. Well it didn’t, but just listen to April tell you in her own words how immediately after her first chiropractic lower back treatment here at TexStar, her pain subsided. Now she feels ten years younger!

Hi, my name is April and I just got through the treatment here at Dr. Henry’s place, TexStar Chiropractic (now in Austin and Buda, Texas. And I feel fabulous. I feel about ten years younger. It’s incredible, really, the moment you get up from the table after his chiropractic treatment. I believe anyone would feel so much better, it’s just that I didn’t expect it. I’m so relieved at how much better I feel. I feel more energized, the pain level has lessened, so it is so worth it to come here. And what brought me here was an auto accident. I jammed my spine up, and I just got tired of thinking it would feel better, when it didn’t.

You too can start your journey toward reduced (and often totally eliminated) spine and neck pain, call TexStar Chiropractic Buda today!

Once “Eight-to-Nine-Level” Back Pain Decreasing Weekly

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, December 03, 2019

Meet our dear patient, Cynthia. She’s special to us but is actually a very typical patient of ours here at TexStar Chiropractic. Cynthia’s lower back pain is caused by the most common source of back pain….life. It is sadly common for people as young in spirit as Cynthia to begin to suffer congenital neck and spine pain rather early in life. But as you’ll hear from Cynthia, you don’t have to live with it.

Listen to Cynthia tell her story about how she once lived in agony due to her constant lower back she describes as being in the “8-9” pain range. However, celebrate her story along with us about how that pain is declining weekly due to the success of her lower back pain chiropractic care treatment here at Buda’s TexStar Chiro.

We’ll see you next week, Cynthia….in less pain than you are today!

Subluxation Defined

Joseph Coupal - Wednesday, October 30, 2019
TexStar Chiropractic, Austin, TX

Here at our Buda Chiropractic care clinic, we take great pride in educating both our patients and the general public about neck and spine health. We’re proud of all of you for conducting your own research. We are thrilled to educate and answer your questions both within our clinic and our Buda & Kyle chiropractic blog itself. A recurring question that we answer is: “Just what is “subluxation” and how is it treated”?

When a vertebrae or other joint becomes misaligned or stops moving properly, it has historically been referred to in the chiropractic profession as a subluxation. These changes in normal joint biomechanics or “subluxations” can be caused by a wide range of issues ranging from a minor slip or bump to a car accident or any sudden trauma. When a vertebrae is subluxated, these altered movement patterns begin to put pressure and cause irritation to the nerves, blood vessels and everything around it. This pressure comes with a price. The subluxation and associated tissue irritation interferes with the normal nervous system pathways that allow for communication between the body and the brain. This is why you may feel like your there is pain in your leg or tingling in your hands even though there is nothing wrong with your leg or hands. The message is getting scrambled due to interference on the line.

As time goes by and a subluxation remains untreated, the spine and surrounding features such as discs begin to degenerate. This degeneration becomes more difficult to reverse as time goes by as the surrounding muscles, nerves and bones begin to adjust to the new shape. The body is an amazing machine. It will start to accommodate these changes by compensating in other areas. The longer this goes on, the more difficult it is and the longer it takes to restore normal function and health to the affected area.

How is subluxation treated? As you might expect it depends. It depends on your specific subluxation condition, the severity of your condition, and your overall physical condition. We very well may determine that a digital x-ray (accomplished right here in our Buda / Kyle chiropractic clinic) is required to identify the type and severity of your subluxation issues. Together, we will author and execute a chiropractic physical rehabilitation plan designed to steadily decrease your spine, neck, or joint pain while systematically improving your quality of life.
