About Dr. John E. Jacobson
Dr. John Jacobson is an Austin native who began his career as a U.S. Army medic. While stationed in the United States and Europe, he trained in emergency care, dermatology, surgery, and physical examination. He was named Soldier of the Year for the 67th Combat Support Hospital in 1995.
After his service, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston with honors. A mentor, Dr. Mark Hendry, DC, helped point him toward chiropractic school. He graduated with honors from Texas Chiropractic College.
His additional training includes sports rehabilitation, myofascial release, kinesio taping, Thompson Drop, low-force technique, Activator, spinal decompression, laser therapy, Graston technique, and nutrition. He uses the least force that still changes the joint, and he may add soft-tissue work or exercise when the exam supports it.
He started playing competitive soccer at age 8 and later played on the U.S. Army Soccer Team in the United States and Europe. He has been cycling for more than five years, including the MS150 and Hotter’N Hell 100, and he also enjoys golf, running, water sports, and yoga. He sponsors local athletic events.
