Sciatica exam for South Austin, Buda, and Kyle
Sciatica is a pattern, not a diagnosis you can confirm from a search. Pain that leaves the low back and runs past the knee may follow a nerve, a joint, or a tight muscle. All four TexStar clinics examine that pattern. The right office is the one closest to you. Results vary.

What to write down before you come in
Note where the pain starts, whether it crosses the knee, and whether the foot feels weak or numb. A catch that stays in the belt line is a different exam from pain that reaches the calf. Coughing or sitting that makes the leg light up is worth mentioning. So is a recent lift, a long I-35 day, or a crash.
The sciatica page walks through the cues the doctor uses. Reflexes, a straight-leg test, and a strength check matter more than the label.
What may be offered after the exam
If the findings fit, the plan may include an adjustment, spinal decompression, rehab, laser, or spot cryotherapy. Decompression is a table that unloads the spine for a set time. It is not a promise that a disc will change shape. Some leg pain is a hip or a muscle, and those are not put on that table just because the intake form said sciatica.
The $98 new-patient offer, if you mention it, covers the consult, the exam, one trial treatment chosen from the exam, and a findings review. Restrictions may apply.
What this article cannot tell you
It cannot tell you that your pain is a disc, or that you should skip a surgeon you already trust. It can tell you the first TexStar visit is an exam. Care is non-surgical and drug-free. It is individualized. It may reduce pain and improve function. Results vary.
Common Questions
Which TexStar office treats sciatica?
All four. Austin, Bee Cave, Buda, and Dripping Springs examine sciatica-type leg pain, and all four have a spinal decompression table.
Is pain in the hamstring always sciatica?
No. The exam checks whether symptoms follow a nerve, a joint, or a muscle such as the piriformis. The word on an old note does not replace those tests.
When is leg pain an emergency?
New loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle numbness, or a leg that is getting weaker the same day should go to an emergency room. Results vary for the problems that are appropriate for the clinic.
