Spot Cryotherapy
Spot cryotherapy cools a small region, such as a knee or a band of back muscle, for a short time. TexStar uses it as a local option, not as a full-body chamber session.

Is it a fit
When Focused Cold Is the Pick
- A joint that is sore and warm after a long day on it
- An area that flares in the hours following activity
- Soreness the same day as other treatment, to keep it manageable
- A spot that responds better to cold than heat at home
Why a Chiropractor Might Choose It
Focused cold can calm a hot, sore spot after activity or after another treatment the same day. On a first visit it is one of three possible trial sessions, picked only if it matches the exam better than decompression or laser.
How It Differs from a Bag of Ice
The clinic applies cold to a defined area for a controlled, short period rather than leaving something on until it is forgotten. That matters, because home icing tends to be either a couple of distracted minutes or long enough to leave the skin unhappy.
Not a Whole-Body Chamber
Whole-body cryotherapy means standing in a tank for a general wellness claim. TexStar does not do that. Spot treatment targets the area the exam found, and the clinic makes no whole-body recovery or metabolic claims for it.
When Cold Is a Bad Idea
Open skin, poor sensation in the area, or cold sensitivity are reasons to skip it. Cold also does not explain the cause of numbness, weakness, or pain that is spreading. Those findings still need the exam.
Step by step
How a Spot Cryotherapy Session Runs
A few minutes on one area, bracketed by the same checks as any other tool.
- 1The chiropractor confirms cold suits the tissue better than heat or light
- 2Skin is checked for sensation and any break in the surface
- 3Focused cold is applied to that one area for a short, timed period
- 4The area is rechecked and you are told what to do at home that evening
Reasons Cold Gets Skipped
Say something during the exam if any of these apply to you.
- Reduced feeling in the area, so you cannot tell it is too cold
- Raynaud's, cold urticaria, or another known cold sensitivity
- Poor circulation or known peripheral arterial disease
- Broken skin, a wound, or an active infection over the spot
- Numbness or weakness that is spreading, which needs an exam not an ice pack

Questions
Common Questions
Will I stand in a cryo chamber?
No. Treatment is aimed at one spot while you are in the clinic, not a whole-body tank.
Should I be icing at home too?
Ask the chiropractor about your specific area. For some findings heat is the better instruction, and doing both badly is worse than doing one properly.
Is it uncomfortable?
It is cold, and the first minute is the worst of it. Tell staff if it turns from cold to burning, because that is the point to stop.
Can it be combined with laser the same visit?
They are usually chosen instead of one another, since they suit different findings. The chiropractor explains which one your exam pointed to.
Is this included in the new-patient offer?
Yes, if it is the trial treatment the chiropractor selects. The $98 visit covers the consultation, exam, one trial session, and the findings review.
