Knee on Trac Decompression

Knee on Trac is a decompression device for the knee, not the spine. TexStar has it at Bee Cave and Buda. Austin and Dripping Springs do not have this machine.

Is it a fit

Knees the Chiropractor May Put on the Device

The knee is examined first. These are the patterns that make a trial reasonable.
  • Aching that shows up on stairs, hills, or getting out of a car
  • Osteoarthritis where the joint is stiff but still stable
  • Meniscus irritation that has settled into a nagging, mechanical ache
  • A knee that feels tight and compressed rather than hot and swollen

What the Session Is For

The device gently separates the knee surfaces for short cycles. Chiropractors consider it for some cases of knee osteoarthritis or meniscus irritation when walking and stairs are the main limits. It does not regrow cartilage, and it does not replace a knee replacement when the joint is unstable.

How the Machine Is Set Up

You sit with the leg supported and a cuff above the ankle. The unit applies a slow pull along the line of the shin, holds, and eases off, repeating for a set number of cycles while the thigh stays anchored. Sessions run short. You should feel the joint open, not sharpen.

Why the Hip and Back Get Examined Too

A knee rarely hurts in isolation. A stiff hip or a back that changes how you push off will load one side of the knee more than the other. The chiropractor checks how you walk and how you rise from a chair, because treating only the sore joint tends to hand the problem back within weeks.

Where to Book

Ask for Bee Cave or Buda if you want this machine. A spinal decompression table at another clinic is a different treatment and is not a substitute for Knee on Trac.

What This Visit Will Not Do

There are no injections, no bracing prescriptions, and no surgery at these clinics. If the exam suggests the joint needs an orthopedic opinion, the chiropractor will say that rather than sell a series of sessions.

Step by step

A Knee on Trac Appointment, Start to Finish

Book at Bee Cave or Buda. The exam comes before the device on every first visit.

  • 1The chiropractor examines the knee, the hip above it, and how you walk
  • 2The leg is positioned and the cuff is fitted above the ankle
  • 3The unit cycles a gentle pull along the shin while the thigh stays anchored
  • 4Stairs, standing, and range are rechecked to see whether it earned another session

See a Physician About the Knee First

The device is not appropriate for an unstable or infected joint. These need medical evaluation.

  • A knee that locks and will not straighten
  • The joint giving way completely under your weight
  • Heat, redness, and swelling with a fever
  • A fresh injury with obvious deformity or immediate large swelling
  • Calf pain and swelling on one side, which needs urgent assessment

What the $98 New-Patient Visit Includes

One appointment: consultation, exam, a trial treatment chosen from the exam, and a findings review. Mention the offer when you schedule. Restrictions may apply. Results vary.
  1. 1

    Consultation

You tell the chiropractor what hurts, what you want to get back to, and which clinic you are visiting.

  2. 2

    Exam

A neuro-musculo-skeletal exam looks for the source: the joint, the muscle, and the nerve.

  3. 3

    Trial Treatment

One session of spinal decompression, cold laser, or spot cryotherapy, chosen from the exam. That session is included in the visit.

  4. 4

    Findings Review

Your Chiropractor will go over the results of the exam and discuss a plan of care.

Questions

Common Questions

Answers from the chiropractors. Anything specific to you belongs in the exam, not on a web page.
Can I get Knee on Trac in Austin or Dripping Springs?

No. Current operations list the machine at Bee Cave and Buda only.

Do I still need an exam?

Yes. The knee is examined before anyone is placed on the device. Swelling with fever, a locked knee, or a new injury with deformity should be seen medically first.

Is the spinal decompression table the same thing?

No. That table treats the neck or lower back. Knee on Trac is built for the knee joint, and one cannot stand in for the other.

Will this let me avoid a knee replacement?

That is not a promise anyone can make. It may ease pain and improve how far you walk for some arthritic knees. A joint that is unstable or bone-on-bone may still need a surgical opinion.

How long is a session?

Short, usually under twenty minutes of table time, with the exam and recheck around it on the first visit.
