A Chiropractor’s Guide to Running Shoe Selection

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, June 02, 2020

TexStar Chiropractic’s very own Dr. Woods, DC, produced a video for all you runners out there. He explains how to select your most important piece of equipment, your shoes. Poor quality, poor fit, or improper design for you can lead to a host of problems that Dr. Woods describes in the video below. The tips for proper footwear selection that he covers are: how to properly size your shoe (and why this is important), selecting the proper toe box width, arch support, heel lock, firm vs plush construction, overall flexibility of you shoe choice, and when to replace your running shoes.

Our mission here at both our Austin TexStar Chiropractic clinic and our Buda/Kyle TexStar Chiropractic clinic is to improve our patients quality of life by providing more complete care. To us that means getting you information that can help to keep you healthy and on the trail. We hope that you are enjoying these short educational videos. Thanks, Dr. Woods, for these tips that all runners should take to heart. If you or any member of your family is suffering from jogging or running-related pain, reach out to us here at Buda’s TexStar Chiropractic.
