TexStar COVID Update

TexStar COVID Update

We are Still Here to Serve You

Since our last notice went out both state and local authorities have issued directives to help to manage healthcare resource shortages and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Today, March 24th , Travis County has issued a “Stay Home – Work Safe” order which mandates citizens to only leave their residences to perform Essential Activities, such as procuring groceries, going to doctors’ appointments, or going to work if they work in an Essential Service industry.

In today’s directive county officials strongly encouraged all Essential Service providers, such as our office, to remain open if they are able to do so.

How We are Doing Our Part

Before these directives came out TexStar had already taken steps to postpone non-essential appointments, while ensuring that those who needed us most could still access care. (see our March 18th email)

Our focus will remain on taking pressure off the rest of the health care system, and other essential service providers while they work tirelessly to deal with the effects of this virus.

To do this we are extending or enacting the following measures:

Scheduling priority will be given to Essential Service Providers such as doctors, nurses, first responders and the service workers that ensure that those isolated at home have what they need

We will continue to postpone all non-essential care until April 13th (unless local recommendations change)

We are strictly enforcing social distancing, patient screening, and CDC recommended sanitation measures in our offices

We ask that all patients who are 65 and above or immunocompromised postpone any care in our office unless their symptoms are severe enough that they would otherwise seek care in medical office, urgent care facility or emergency room

What we Need from You:

  • If you feel like your care can wait until April 13th call us to reschedule your appointment

  • Arrive within 5 minutes of your scheduled appointment time so that we can better control the number of patients in our office at any one time call us to reschedule your appointment

  • Come to your appointment alone unless assistance is needed

  • If you are a senior or immunocompromised but feel that you need to be seen, call our office to discuss with one of our doctors if postponing care is possible for your situation

  • Stay home if you or someone you have been in close contact with in the last 14 days has had any signs of respiratory infection, a fever of 100.4, a cough, shortness of breath, been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19, or traveled internationally

Just remember that we are here for you even if we can’t see you in person. If you have questions, concerns, or just need to say hello please give us a call.
