September 9, 2022Five Tips for Safe Lifting
September 19, 2022Hello once again from your friends at all of our TexStar Chiropractic locations: Texstar Chiropractic in SW Austin, Texstar Chiropractic in Bee Cave, Texstar Chiropractic in Buda, and Texstar Chiropractic in Belterra Neighborhood of Dripping Springs. Damaged, degenerative, bulging, herniated and ruptured spinal discs are among the most common causes of lower back pain, leg pain, leg numbness or weakness, neck pain, arm pain, and arm numbness or weakness. It’s a medical fact that damaged discs, which bulge or protrude as a result of a weakened annulus, seldom retract on their own because they are always subject to gravity and are under constant internal pressure.
How do you know if these symptoms are because of a disc injury? While there are some rudimentary at-home tests you can do to rule-out a disc injury, most of the time, a doctor who specializes in the discs and vertebrae (spine bones) are the only ones qualified to diagnose a disc injury. Doctors of Chiropractic are experts at this.
What can you do if you DO have a disc injury? Discs take a long time to heal! It’s important not to rush it. The good news is: it IS possible. It is important to properly diagnose your condition so you can recover appropriately (and not further injure yourself).
One of the most common and successful treatments for disc injuries is Spinal Decompression Therapy. Spinal Decompression is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical treatment option for damaged, degenerative, bulging, herniated and ruptured spinal discs. This therapy relieves pressure on vital structures of the spine by reducing pressure inside the discs. In many cases, this allows the body to actually repair some of the damage inside the discs and other joints of the spine.
At TexStar Chiropractic, many patients are recovering more quickly and more completely than previously possible using Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy.
